Offers received from Club Royale (Royal Caribbean)

As a somewhat surprising result, I found out this afternoon that my travel agent worked with Club Royale to get me a comped junior suite on my cruise next October.

I'm glad that they did end up recognizing my level of play on my last cruise. I do, however, wish that they had a more open system so that people would know what they should be able to get rather than having to get an "exception".

Very happy to hear this, Marc. I guess it’s worth fighting but it’s a shame we have to stoop to that.

Well done

This is the list of sailings I received email for.

How do your get these emails? I sailed for my first time in October and qualified for a free balcony cert. I booked it for a cruise in December. But I have never got any email offering further comp cruises. Am I misunderstanding something?

Give CR a call. I received the email but a friend of mine didn't. She called them and they said she is eligible for the offers but for some reason her email notifications were off.

I will second the recommendation to make a phone call to CR. I took a 4 day on Enchantment OTS last November, racked up enough points for a $500 FCC (not even enough for a free inside) and started getting emails the very next month. It may be that you opted out of receiving email offers or at least their computer thinks you opted out.

By the way, not everyone gets the same offers. People that rack up more points than I do get more choices in their offers as well as nicer cabins offered. This is OK - I am happy to be receiving any offers at my level of play (many hours at tables but generally playing table minimum).

Marc, that is the same comp cruise list I received. I don't have anything in the works right now.. I am trying to schedule something, but with my office and kids it's been difficult. My sister and husband are going to be on Symphony in Mediterranean this June. I am having withdrawals......lol.

I certainly can't make any sense out of their new comp program. We have been consistently receiving certificates for either a free cruise or dollars off and we always received free drinks in the casino. After cruising on the Oasis recently, our certificates were for the lowest amount we have ever received. Ok...we'll take that. This past week on the Majesty the casino hostess told us we didn't have enough points to qualify for the free drinks. How could we not? All she would say is the program has changed. In the past month & 1/2 since our last cruise? So I ask how many points did we have...she would not tell us! She said she couldn't because other passengers might hear. ??? The certificates we received for our 4 nights on the Majesty, were the same as the 7 nights on Oasis. Makes little sense to me.

Hope someone can answer this

We booked a Charter Cruise on Brilliance. Nothing through CR. No discount, no nothing. Will CR still track play and expect the same play as in the past for this cruise to maintain CR VIP Status?

Call CR and tell them you will be on that sailing and ask them to make sure it is in the system. I did that with a cruise we are taking in Feb., also not booked through CR. I was told it would be done. Check in with the host/hostess first thing. Also, they ask for your SeaPass card at the tables all the time now, even if you aren't already a VIP. In other words, yes....they will still track your play.

Thanks yes... I was thinking more the other way. Many activities are planned in the evening during what would normally be my Casino time. I don’t want to drop out due to lack of play.

  • 2 weeks later...

I think I'm also done with Casino Royale. I would like to mention several things.... Just off Harmony with 26,000 points and I got certificate for limited list for whole 2018 year for comp balcony or 1k off. Today I called to book Allure on next Thanksgiving week and was told Junior Suite need to pay extra almost 2K (JS for 2 people cost $4,815) and for balcony cabin extra $900 ...What????? Cannot believe ..... but CR said if I am going week before Thanksgiving then Balcony will be comp. I never ever got offeres like it --- always was JS or Balcony comp any weeks of the year.

Also there is no more casino rate .... $$$ from certificate substructed off regular RCCL rate

Wow! Could it be the Corporate Office hasn't received a copy of your certificate yet showing the 26,000 points? This sounds like a job for Mark's TA. :) I would continue up the chain of command asking what is the point of investing so much time and money if you're only going to receive a comp equivalent to 4,800 points.

I asked same question if they got my play summary ---- answer was yes :)

Maybe need call one or teo more times or as you said get Mark's TA info ;-)

It looks as if they have "blacked out" Thanksgiving week for a comp cruise, next year. The [comp] certificates (regardless of the balcony category) have always been for specific sailings and, to my knowledge, have never been "any week of the year". If you want to use the cash value then, yes, it can be used for any qualified sailing (up to one year out, only...new rule).

And yes, the certificates (cash value) can no longer be combined with casino rates. They will offer either the casino rate OR the certificate value but not both.

Interesting that they would "black out" next Thanksgiving since I was JUST on a comp cruise this Thanksgiving (last week).....but it's their program, their rules. For whatever reason they seem to be blacking out Thanksgiving next year. The list (from the certificate) that I just got is also missing Thanksgiving week.

If you are concerned about not getting a higher cabin category then I think you might be able to get them to change their minds, based on Marc's results. I would keep reaching out to higher authorities on that one but if you want to cruise on a week that isn't on the comp list then you're not going to get a comp'ed room. You will have to pay the prevailing rate and whatever discount works best, in your favor.

Spoke today with CR again and ask if I can book cruise using my last play cruise for 2019 --- answer NO - only 1 year until Nov 2018 Then I asked if I want to book 3 and 4 nights on Navigator for exp --- answer NO only last play CR can apply for one leg and need to pay for second leg. Cost for one leg $299 pp and 2nd $329pp .... Just rediculas ... I agree with other player just earn 4.800 and get out from casino.

I decided no more casino play on cruises because before even if you didn't win a lot or lose a lot you received better value due to the old point system. Now it's just not worth it. I play in the land based casinos and next year I have three free cruises (NCL, Carnival and Princess).

I thought you all gambled because you enjoyed it. 😉

Does anyone happen to know the answer to this question....

Do the casino hosts have an end of the week budget / extra perks they distribute (at their discretion) to the casino guests with the highest points? I overheard a conversation that I probably shouldn't have....

Wasn’t aware of any such program. Interested it that overheard conversation.

As far as I know not to that extent.

Just got off of Allure today and more than maxed out the free room program. Ended up with 6200 points. They did allow me to take the free play ($5 for every 250 points) as an adjustment to the Seapass card. They said they only do that for those who earn over 5000 points.
