Smoking Policy?

I'm super sensitive to smoke indoors (my throat closes and or gets very sore) and am wondering if Azamara's policy is similar to Celebrity's, i.e. no smoking anywhere indoors. We're thinking of booking but smoking allowed in the casino or any other inside space would be a deal breaker. Thanks.

No smoking is allowed anywhere except for a designated area outside near to the pool bar.

Thanks so much. That's great news and opens another option. We've gotten really frustrated with Celebrity's website and waiting for it to get fixed (7 months and counting). Most of the other options allow it in the casinos and that's a no go for me.

MSC has non-smoking casinos. On most ships, one side of the ship is for smoking on deck in certain areas.

I didn't know that about MSC. Since they do status matching that's another option to look into. Just to be clear is MSC entirely smoke free indoors? Smoking outdoors in designated areas only as on Celebrity?

Smoking is only allowed on Deck 9 in one forward corner of the Pool Deck. If you look at this deck plan (link below) you'll see a big X which marks the smoking-allowed spot. If you walk by this part of the Pool Deck you'll almost always find a lively group of people having a grand time. It sometimes makes me wish I were a smoker ;p

Since you're super-sensitive to tobacco smoke, just avoid the X area.

Celebrity's smoking policy is equally restrictive. No smoking inside, including the casino.

If you are looking for a great website, don't stop here. (The devil made me say that.)

But if you are looking at a wonderful cruise experience with fresh air indoors, you've found a new home.

Thanks Phil. We've been sailing Celebrity exclusively for quite a few years now but were looking for an alternative due to Celebrity website issues and my smoke related issues.

Seems like I remember seeing a smoking room or cigar room. I didn’t smell smoke inside at all. One side of the deck has smoking areas. You could go on the other side.

Bonnie, no manner of lively activity, no matter how attractive, could ever make me want to be a smoker. I am among those most loathsome of humans - a Reformed Smoker! I hack & wheeze at the very sight of cigarette smoke & wish smoking could be banned from all areas of the ship.

My husband is exactly the same. He gave up over 25 years ago and now loathes the smell. We try and avoid using the door on Deck 9 near smoker’s corner!
