Somebody call AAA!

On the Triumph in Progreso and departure has been delayed 3 hours and counting. The Captain announced about an hour after our scheduled departure that repairs were being made and we still expect to arrive back in New Orleans on time. Rumor mill says propulsion system again.

I called AAA and was told the Captain forgot to renewerw his membership. <smiling face> We were on her the week of January 15th and the only problems we has our cabin was too cold so we got on a chair and shut the vent. Problem solved. Second problem was that one night it was so rocky that they cancelled the Magic Show. So we left the theater and went to the casino. Problem solved again.

My parents are on this cruise. They called with the same news. :( Hopefully things will be fixed soon.

Sooooo you might have to limp back to port and get an extended day or 2 vacation on a cruise ship? Bummer. ;p

The Triumph is starting to resemble the problems that the Destiny (also known as the "Death Star" totally unofficially) had before the major dry dock that turned her into the Sunshine. I like the Sunshine, though it has some shortcomings, it is so much better than the Destiny was. A change like that would be good for the Triumph.

A new update from the Captain says repairs are still in progress and we'll set sail as soon as possible. He'll update us on our arrival status in the morning which doesn't sound hopeful for on-time.

(Not that we're in a hurry. We booked three extra days in New Orleans but I'd gladly trade ship days for the hotel.)

A little delay is nothing, unless they go door to door passing out paddles.

Looks like they got under way about 6 hours ago and appear to running at full speed.

Nothing has been announced yet but ship's time is only 8:25am. :hot-beverage: They'll probably get us an update around noon or so.

Still near top speed and it looks like we'll be entering the river only about an hour later than normal. Tomorrow should go as scheduled.

Please say it ain't so! We are one her in 15 days. I don't care if she breaks down while I'm on her (hey, I've camped in the rough before;p). I just really, really, need a cruise. (Yes, I do have trip insurance but I need sunshine!)

Man...Glad that thing is leaving NOLA.
