Lauderdale Hotel Shuttles to Pier

Recommended Posts

Do any of the hotels in Fort Lauderdale provide free shuttle to the cuirse pier? Just curious; on previous cruises here we have paid $8 per person for shuttle to pier.

Last time we used Springhill Suites in Dania Beach, they offered a free shuttle.

However, I didn't like the timing and we took a taxi instead. Cost was about $20 total for two of us. Faster and went when we wanted and directly to our terminal.

Don't waste your time hunting for a hotel just because they may have a shuttle, especially one you have to pay for. Taxis are very inexpensive to port from local hotels. Uber even cheaper. And they go when you want to go, not the usually inconvenient time the hotel ships you there

Use a taxi faster and cheaper. Most shuttles are per person while a taxi is for 2 or 3 people. Depending on where you are staying in Fort Lauderdale a taxi is fairly cheap. If you download the yellow taxi app you can prearrange a taxi. It even tells you the taxi number and drivers name and pic.

We stayed at the Embassy Suites. Taxi from FLL to airport about $20 with tip for husband, son and me. Embassy Suites to port $5 plus tip.

We have stayed at the embassy suites Fort Lauderdale and if you book the cruise package, it’s about $5-10 more but it includes shuttle to port for your party and the breakfast is awesome. Plus you, usually, get a room that when we looked out in the morning, we could see our ship.

We dislike hotel shuttles, too. I said "never again" after our first and only experience. The hotel had a large bus hauling a trailer for the luggage and we stopped at all the piers before we arrived at Royal's pier. At each pier, one of us had to get off and make sure the driver did not unload the wrong luggage since he did not load it correctly at the beginning. Everyone was complaining and it took forever for people to get their luggage unloaded and then he had to load everything back on and go on to the next pier. Take a taxi. It's well worth the $20.
