Casino Room

I recently booked a free room with a casino offer for the July 18 sailing on the Sunshine. I was told they only had one inside room left and it was on floor 1. Is there a way to check and see if they have other rooms available now or even upgrade to a balcony? If it were just a couple hundred dollars then I would upgrade and get a higher floor. Anyone have experience with this?

I just booked today using a free cruise offer from my land based casino. What are the details of your offer? I am presuming that it is for inside room for two passengers? I was able to upgrade to an aft extended view balcony for the difference between the inside and the balcony cabin. I booked using the Casino Promotions number 1-888-294-6225. Had to pay the upgrade plus port fees and taxes. What a great deal. Enjoy.

We have a free room booked under a bounce-back casino offer for the Pride in June. We initially booked for just port fees and taxes for an interior, and I called a few days later to upgrade us to a balcony. It was $70 per person to upgrade from the free interior to a balcony. Based on what the rep told us when we initially booked the interior room, upgrading to a balcony under the casino offer ranged from $60 - $80 per person based on the sailing. They also gave us the highest available regular balcony category at the time, which was an 8K.

Give them a call! It's worth a try, and I bet they'll be able to upgrade you for a reasonable fee. Good luck! :D

Just called and they moved me to deck 8! I asked about a balcony room and it was going to be over $300 a person. The offer was for a free interior cabin and just pay port fees and taxes. Thanks for the advice!!

Obviously there are other rooms available if you were to book it yourself and pay full retail value, but "comp" rooms are based on availability just like if you were booking a room at your land based casino. Like others have said try giving them a call and directly ask how much it is to upgrade to a balcony room, if it's under a $100 per person for the week it'd be worth it to me; anything over just stick with the comp you have. Luckily my offer from my home casino was for a balcony, sailing on Splendor out of NYC in August!!

Just received free inside offer for Jul 18 sailing on Sunshine, upgraded today to Balcony for $400 per person, I feel $800 for 2 people for an 8 day cruise is still a great deal considering the Balcony rooms are normally going for almost $1300 per person.

We were told it was $300 for a balcony upgrade ad $700 for a suite. But this could all be about time of year you are sailing and the offer code :)

we used our for June, and the same balcony room for 2 that I upgraded my sister to for $600 would have been $3100 all before taxes so heck of a savings. My parents choose a suite on the same cruise and paid $1400 instead of $4800. Now we were only given a short window to choose from when we did the bounceback casino offer and they were all pretty much sold out ships.

So true :) We really wanted to do an Eastern Itinerary on the Breeze for June 20th since I really liked the ports, and it was my parents anniversary. But even though this ship had the lowest prices and the most rooms avail, the ones were able to choose from had several classes sold out, it was not on the list to choose from. :)

Which land based casino gives you free cruises on Carnival?

I just got one November 25 for 3 to 14 days in a balcony from Delta Downs, a Boyd Gaming property in VInton, Louisiana

I had not been there for almost 1 1/2 years, although I have Emerald Status with Boyd, mainly from Vegas. I have recently moved to Texas and decided I would spend the 5 hour each way to drive there and back just to get it. I arrived, ate, slept, ate, and left :) I have at least 25 Casinos at Sea cruises on NCL. This will be my first Carnival cruise

I got a Carnival Cruise for up to 2 weeks in a balcony cabin from Delta Downs (Vinton, LA)

We opted for an Alaskan Cruise in June and saved almost $4000 from the current online price, after paying the $452 in port fees (more than double the fees for the Caribbean cruise we had switched from). Also had to pay $35 each for a higher deck.

I booked a bounce back from the casino cruise for just taxes and port charges in November. I don't know why I didn't think to ask for an upgraded cabin when I booked it because we never do interiors, only balconies and suites. When I called a few weeks later, the Carnival rep referred me to a casino rep and I was told I couldn't upgrade at that time. Once the booking was made, no changes could be made. We are sailing again next week and if I receive another bounce back offer, I will definitely ask for an upgrade when I make the booking. It looks like it depends upon with whom you speak whether or not you can make changes once a bounce back booking is made.

Have been on many bounce backs. Have upgraded at the time of booking, several weeks later and once less than a week before the cruise. If I don't upgrade immediately I call back weekly. I decide what I'm willing to pay for an upgrade, and then as soon as I get a price I'm willing to pay , I go for it. If not, I suck it up, and stay in the inside room. My best so far is, $118 for the upgrade on a 14 day journeys cruise

Has anyone else on this board received a "land based" casino offer for a Carnival cruise? If yes, could you please say which casino it was?

The Isle Casino at Pompano Park in Pompano Beach, FL used to give complimentary cruises with Carnival twice a year. I got 4 cruises with balcony cabins this way.
