weather in Sept. Pacific Coastal cruise

What to pack for Sept. cruise Vancouver to San Diego. Light jacket or heavy?

Have done this cruise only in May and needed a heavy jacket for the cool mornings.

Always go light - you can add a warmth layer if needed by putting a sweater, fleece, extra T-shirt or whatever underneath it, but you can't avoid overheating in a thick jacket work in warm weather when all you need is the rainproof aspect...

Same answer - layering is even more important for the wee yins with their lower body mass making for a bigger impact from ambient temp/wind, so getting them into something they feel comfy in is important so they don't try to pull off their too-hot clothes and risk getting a chill.

We enjoyed beautiful weather in both August and September .....light jackets and shorts but it'll get cold on deck out at sea.
