Cutting corners?

I wish to give credit where credit is due.

Oceania docked today in Banjul, Gambia. Original schedule called for a port time from 8 AM to 5 PM.

Arrival was changed to 9 AM before sailing as part of multiple changes (part of "after final payment" changes scenario). A day before arrival we were told that the arrival would be delayed to 9:30 due to tides (Banjul is at the mouth of the Gambia river). To compensate for this the departure was changed to 6 PM.

When we arrived to Banjul we could not dock till 10:30 as a freighter was still in our docking space. The departure was again delayed to 7 PM to compensate for this.

Thus the end result was very much like the original port time - 8 1/2 hours instead of 9. In this case, they have given back what they took away :D
