Dining Room choice on Getaway

I'm sailing on the Getaway later this year. With Freestyle dining are you assigned to one main dining room or can you go to any one of the three on any given night?

Also, how many formal nights on a 9 day cruise?

Your choice of MDR. you can eat in the same 1 every night, or change it up. Menu is the same

Thanks for the quick replies. Good to know about the dining rooms.

No formal nights? I've never been on a cruise without them. Kinda disappointing for me as they are the only time I ever get to wear my fancy clothes.

While there are never any nights that many people dress up, you may do so whenever you wish. You will find a few people dressed up every night of the cruise.

Shorts are OK in Taste and Savor MDRs.

Shorts are “allowed” in all restaurants for all meals except Le Bistro and Ocean Blue. In those two restaurants, long pants are required (jeans, dockers).

How about flip flops on children in the MDR?

I would imagine the more casual one would be ok but maybe not the formal. But to be honest I don’t think it’s in the rules?

I stand corrected.. these are the rules:

We want you to be comfortable, but tank tops for men, flip flops, baseball caps, visors and jeans that are overly faded, with holes or tears and worn below the hips are not permitted in main dining rooms or speciality restaurants. Kids 12 and under are welcome to wear nice shorts in all our restaurants.

To me that says no flip flops.
