Getaway Vibe

I am casino so I am good with boarding and the sailing I am on (8/19) seems to be undersold. I was just wondering if I was on a fast walk, a jog or a sprint! I had to run last year on the Breakaway and we were 42 & 43 but I had to try and throw a $20 to the guy taking the numbers. BTW - He refused to take the $20. We were in a race with 3 wonderful ladies and we laughed all week in Vibe about how we were racing each other to guest services. I know some folks on here don't think Vibe is worth it, but when I get a week without our 3 kids, I don't want to see yours. No offense!

Sailed Getaway June 3rd. We were able to obtain Vibe passes. It was actually mad rush to get them. People were actually running past us. My two young adult children then followed the runners and we caught up with them on the line at guest services.

We were in the Haven July 1-8 and were numbers 18 and 19. They were gone by boarding group 2. You’ll need to be at port by 10-10:30 to have a shot if you don’t have priority boarding.

Price is now $129

This is what I told my husband. We are teachers leaving our kid with the grandparents. Lol

Interesting to read that Haven passengers also do Vibe. I guess to ensure that on the days at sea, they are not sharing the Haven pool with the sometimes loud and unruly kids I've read about? Now I'm wondering if we, too should try to run get Vibe passes? We are early 60's, no kids or grandkids traveling with us, prefer quiet.

If you were in the Haven, why did you have to wait for passes? I have always requested them in advance. Perhaps that is something that is not available anymore???

Cruisegal - I would 100% recommend getting Vibe passes on top of Haven. It is a kid free heaven.

Vac44 - What boarding group were you?

We got to the port before 8:30 a.m. and there were about 20 people in front of us. We were able to preboard because my dad qualified for assistance so we did not have a boarding number. My husband went with my dad while I went with my kids to guest services. There were a lot of runners. We got vibe tickets 17-21 I think. We got held up checking in a really long time (they could not find our cabin cards). For that reason, I went ahead and got my dad assistance (it was already noted on his reservation). If we did not have the preboarding assistance, we would not have gotten the vibe passes as we lost alot of time checking in. My best advice is to make sure you get to the port early and get checked in quickly.

We are in a Haven Aft next time we sail. How do you request vibe passes in advance?

Wait, is this true?! If we are in the Haven, can we request Vibe passes ahead of time through the concierge?

Not exactly.

People can request but even without the request, the concierge will have some. When people arrive and the concierge gives them, it feels like their request was granted but it's an illusion.

Not sure how CAS is going to help you. You get priority check in. No priority boarding in Miami.

We have sailed on both the Escape and Getaway and both times were able to secure Vibe passes. We really do enjoy it. We used it a lot on the Getaway in June. Even our two very young adult (18 & 19) children enjoyed it. Next May we will be on the Escape again, this time in a Haven category, and I think we will be getting Vibe passes again. For us having open lounges, hot tub, sun, shade, and a bar in a secluded area without kids is very relaxing.

Sorry to perseverate but just to clarify, if we're in Haven we don't need to do the mad dash to guest services, the concierge can get us Vibe passes on the Getaway?

Whoa, it depends.

The concierge has some but once other Haven guests take those, there are no more. You don't have to run but if you saunter onto the ship hours after general boarding begins, there is no guarantee that the concierge will have anything.

The BEST option for Haven guests is to arrive and check-in before general boarding begins. Then, use priority boarding and saunter (no need to run) to Guest Services. Don't count on the concierge to have passes as other Haven guests may get there before you.

The concierge can call down BUT if the passes are already gone from there, nothing more can be done.

I think we will saunter. I would rather get them ourselves instead of chancing it with the concierge.

IMHO I think the whole process of getting Vibe passes is ridiculous and undignified. There has got to be a better way. I would go with the Haven if having a lounge chair under an umbrella looking at the ocean is important to you. The Haven sundeck on the top level is lovely and has plenty of chairs and umbrellas. I have been fortunate enough to travel when there were no problematic children or adults and most of the chairs were empty. I had a server coming up every 15 minutes or so asking me if I wanted anything. It was my happy place on the Getaway! Oh and I forgot to mention, peace and quiet-no loud music or loud people.

I agree. Will maybe fast walk. If we get to the port at 10 to check in, we should still be in the first group to get on board if we're Haven right? (Miami, Getaway)

Did you know that kids are no longer allowed on the Haven sundeck, it is only for those 16 and older?

Would you still feel the need to acquire a Vibe pass knowing that?

I'm just curious . . .
