Tipping in Canada.

What is considered a good tip in Canada? I'm talking taxi drivers, bell staff, wait staff, etc. Also, we usually leave a few dollars in our hotel room each day for the housekeepers. Is this customary in Canada?

Do exactly the same as you would in the US, but in local currency. Leaving the same as normal in USD would automatically bump things up to Very Nice Tip levels (even allowing for cost of flipping currency, raising a 15% tip to ~20%)
