Which Princess ship to Alaska for Cruisetour

We would like to do an Alaska cruisetour with Princess in 2019 and have a few questions that I am sure many of you could give answers and opinions on:

1. We know that Princess has multiple ships that offer this, if you were going to do this which ship would you pick and why?

2. Do you prefer north or southbound? We live in Texas so we figured southbound so that would put land portion first.

3. We know that the weather is not predictable but if we wanted to have warmer, less rainy days which month would be best? Originally I thought probably July.

4. When does Princess release the Alaska 2019 dates?
