Westerdam so Far

Made it onboard. I like the new color scheme,much lighter in color.

Much better signage in elevator areas-lighted signs.

The obvious bad thing is Exc Central and what's left of Crows Nest.

What a waste of space- I already voiced my displeasure to the CD.

No library- no paperback exchange that I saw.

This ranks right up there with the Veendam aft pool.

One piece of good news. I SAW A CRUISE LOG in a mailbox from last voyage [emoji3]

We will be on her next cruise and are so very excited. Love hearing more about the ship. Have fun.

My DH had complained that there was no way to tell what floor you were on if you were coming down the stairs - say at muster drill - is there anything there now? When he talked to the CD about it on Westerdam the CD said "Just go around the corner and the signage is between the elevators" Which wastes time, if you are trying to go down multiple floors.

Some ships are well marked at each floor, but not Westerdam, or Oosterdam.

We didn't get a cruise log after our recent Eastern Canada and US cruise, nor after our South American one in the Spring. Happy to hear they are back.

Will you let me know what table games there are in the casino? Also, if you play any slot machines, which ones do you like?

Where on the ship is this studio situated?

The article states that "guests can join workshops, where instructors will help them produce their own work of art; a new masterpiece is discussed each day and sketchpads, pencils and encouragement are provided".

My major in college was Art history and I live painting! But....... I changed my major and became a dentist! Same thing I feel my art was in the mouth!!!! Can you give me the arrival you read? I appreciate it!!

A beautiful sunny day in Cartagena.

The museum display is on deck 1 across from guest devices. I haven't checked it out yet.

I haven't been in the casino - will see what games there are.

We did have Captains toast, but no staff introductions. People were fairly well dressed for gala night.

There is a cellar masters dinner scheduled for $79. Not planning on going.

Tomorrow is the Alhambra.

The article was in the New Zealand Sunday Star Times newspaper earlier this month, titled "Bored on Board? Never".

I was surprised to see Holland America Rijksmuseum mentioned,as had not seen any mention here on Cruise Critic. Also mentioned were Cunard Transatlantic Fashion Week, September 2-9 2018, APT Western Front with ANZAC Day Dawn Service April 14-28, 2018, and some river cruising.

The article stated that Rijksmuseum will be available on select cruises in the Mediterranean, Panama and Alaska.

Stated that the newly refurbished Westerdam is the first ship in HAL's Fleet to feature Rijksmuseum at Sea, a studio space showcasing reproductions of the Amsterdam museum's collection of Dutch masters.

Just docked in Malaga. It's going to be a nice day.

An answer to the casino question, there are 7 blackjack tables,1 craps and 1 roulette plus slots.

The museum exhibit seems to be permanent. I saw some books and video projected on screen.
