How to Deal With "Difficult" Posts or Threads on this Board

This information has been posted elsewhere on Cruise Critic by Host Kat, and I felt it was time to revise it for the community here on River Cruising.

I sincerely hope everyone will take a few moments to read this important information. Thank you !

Staff members [Admins] and non-paid volunteer Hosts are here to provide you with a Message Board environment that is free from advertising, soliciting, harassment, vulgarity and disparaging posts as well as providing you with a safe haven brought together by those sharing a mutual interest: RIVER CRUISING

When you joined CruiseCritic you [and all other members] agreed to abide by all Cruise Critic Guidelines

If you see a post that you feel may violate the Guidelines, just click the Report Post link in the upper right corner of the post you want to report. Type your message in the Report Post text box, then click the Send Report button. Your part is done at that point.

Please do not post a quote of, or reply to, the reported post in the thread, or start a new thread about the reported post. If you do, your post may be removed as a violation of theGuidelines.

A Report Post e-mail will be generated for review by all Hosts and Admins. The e-mail will automatically show the necessary information they need [such as the forum name, thread title & link, post title & link] in addition to your message.

Keep in mind we do not prescreen posts, so there may be a period of time when a post you have reported remains visible. The relevant Hosts and Admins will review your Report Post e-mail message when they can. With over a million members and e-mails being received 24/7 from all over the world, please be patient for any action. The staff is here during regular weekday business hours and the volunteer Hosts are here when their real lives permit.

Also be aware that not every alert will result in an action such as a removal, as the post may not be judged to be in contravention of the Guidelines.

As the Guidelines state:

Discussion of the management of this community is not allowed on the forums.  Your post will be removed and you may receive a Guideline Reminder.  However, we would be happy to address any concerns you have via email.   Please write to the Community Manager at:  community@cruisecritic.com.
