Can someone please explain the boarding process for embarking in Copenhagen please?

It appears that Favolosa with be in Terminal 2 on July 28th 2018?

What can we expect?

Best time to arrive at the ship?

How do the lines work?

Are signs in English?

Any tips or suggestions are appreciated!

Any pictures?

We joined Favalosa in Copenhagen 2 years ago.

We took a taxi from our hotel to the cruise terminal around 11.15 am. Boarding rarely starts before 12.

Signs are in English and staff will speak English.

Make sure you have water and snacks in case you are kept waiting longer.

20 mins to half an hour

Depends on the queue/scrum

You will be given a card with a number on it and they shout out the number when boarding - and put it on screens. The Continental passengers don’t pay much notice to this so they will push in whenever they can.

Get there a bit earlier (11)and you will get on sooner. Suite and top level (Perla Diamanté) are first to board.

The boarding process is pretty smooth. You will get your photo taken for your cruise card as you board the ship. It’s a swish operation and costa usually do it all so well.

Just don’t let the mob push in front of you!

They tell you not to go to your cabin when you board - they will show you to the lift and take you to the buffet, but you must go to your cabin and collect your cruise cards. This means you can have your drinks with lunch.

Lunch will also be served in the main dining room (they keep that one quiet though) on deck 3 - much nicer imo. Only to 1.30 usually

Nearly everyone in Denmark speaks English. We have lessons in school from the age of 10 and all the way up. (Not necessarily fluent and perfect, but adequate :-) )

Just got back from Favalosa Norway cruise from Copenhagen and returning there 7 days after. We got a taxi to terminal, they are clearly marked (cost about 290 danish crowns). Luggage taken as soon as we arrived. We arrived at 2pm for 5.30 departure (most Costa people get there very early!!!). We were in a Suite but terminal was very quiet despite over 2000 going onboard at Copenhagen (another 1500 plus got on at Warnemunde). Given ticket with number on it and told which line to get in. Quickly got to one of the desks. We handed over our documents and passport. They checked them and handed the documents back...got passport back at end of cruise. We were told to board. Our picture was taken by a crew member and he kept the documents and were told to go straight to cabin which was open and where we found our cards on the bed. Luggage took about 20 minutes. All in all it took less than 15 minutes to complete formalities...fantastic! And someone in another class cabin would have done it just as quick! It was a great cruise!
