Need advice about tying separate reservations together.

We just got invited to join a group on a cruise. The group currently has 16 individual reservations through various Agents, online booking engines, etc. Apparently this started off as two couples going and continues to grow. Is there any way to tie these reservations together? I am trying to get dinner tables together, maybe getting the ship to hold a reception for us, etc. Thanks for your help.

You can have the TA's cross reference the reservations should you want to dine together. You won't be able to get one table but you could get two and you could cross reference four couples at one and four at the other. Best way would be to get all of the reservation numbers. Have your TA cross reference you and three other couples at one table and have someone else cross reference themselves and three other couple at the other table. You could have them note on the reservation that all eight couples would like to be at tables (two tables for example) near each other.

We gather you are talking about the Allure of the Seas....and those monster ships have their own systems and issues when it comes to dining reservations. Since the bookings have been done all kinds of ways....it does make it complicated. There used to be a way to link reservations on the cruise personalizer (that is where you can access your reservation info on the RCI site) but we have not booked with RCI for a few years and know they have changed their online site. But you might look (just log on and pull up your reservation) and see if their is an option to link reservations. Otherwise you can try to call RCI and ask if they can do a link before the cruise. You will likely have more luck if one of your party booked directly with RCI,,,,,since their reservation agents will not generally help those who booked elsewhere.

One other possibility is that if any or your group has previously cruised with RCI, they will have a Crown and Anchor Club number. You can call RCI and ask for the Crown and Anchor folks...and see if they can help handle the request prior to the cruise. Otherwise, one of you can try and deal with it once aboard. One of your party would need to have all the info about each person....and then talk to the dining folks or Guest Relations to get the dining reservations linked. This is best done ASAP after boarding.

You will all need to be assigned the same type of dining....either everyone needs to have MTD, or early or late seating, if you want to sit together for dinner. If everyone has MTD, then you don't really need to "link"...you simply need to tell them when you board how large of a party you will have each night.

With traditional seating, you will need to "link" your booking numbers, so they know to put you at tables together.

16 reservations -- usually there are 2 people on a reservation (a couple) -- is this what you mean?

If so -- that is 32 people - definitely need a travel agent get all the confirmation numbers and work with the cruise line to get you all seated in the same area of the dining room.

You might arrange with a photographer to get a group picture taken.

Do not expect the ship to hold a reception for you all.
