Bath Iron Works Story By Land and Sea

Since you didn't mention the cruise line, I googled the excursion title and found it for RCI. Maine Maritime Museum is a very nice place, if Maritime history is your thing. I think there are more scenic cruises available in Portland than going down the Kennebec River. Freeport is a nice little town, great shopping, with Beans and the outlets, though I go there all the time. The Jameson Tavern is historic and a great meal. Would I spend 6 hours doing this? Probably not. Would I spend $100/person for this, probably not. It's not a bad price for the bus time and the boat ride, but I would spend a bit more and see some better things around Portland.

Thanks chengkp75. We have been to Portland before and been to Kennebunkport and seen the lighthouses. I wanted to take the Mailboat or Diamond Run cruise but he nixed that since he will only take cruise excursions. I’ll revisit the options available to us. Happy cruising.

Mailboat run is the best $16 spent on a cruise. The morning run will definitely get you back in time for sailing (around noon-oneish). Then have a leisurely lunch at Boone's or the Grill Room, get your shopping out of the way, and then a pre-dinner snack and drinks at the King's Head Tavern (I recommend the Scotch egg and their beer selection). All within walking distance. Get a lobster roll at Becky's Diner.
