Venice: Disembarkation Time

We arrive in port at 8am and I am trying to figure out when we would be off the ship. I've only been on one cruise and I seem to recall we were in no rush but I can't remember how long it took. I'm trying to decide on a place to do a day trip and this will help. If we get off the ship at 9am, would we have time to go to either Verona or Padua for the day. What is your experience with timing of getting off ships in Venice?

As far as I know, all cruise lines like to get everybody off the ship by 9.30 at the latest. You could ask for people’s experience with your particular cruise line on the cruise line board. 8am is quite a late arrival.
