New to cruising out of Galveston is it difficult to get a taxi/uber on cruise day from a hotel (Hampton Inn Galveston Island) to the port? Trying to decide whether to prebook a transfer or count on taxi/uber. Also what time can you board LOS? We usually like to board as early as possible! (Also Diamond level so I think that gives you early embarkation)

Thanks!!

Check with your hotel to see if they have any shuttle information. We were there earlier this month but we had a rental car right on the island, we took the car back and used their free shuttle to the port.

We got of the ship a little after 9, there were people unloading luggage then for the next cruise.

Have you decided on anything, Bahama Mama? We're (party of 2) flying in the night before and need to book a transfer on cruise day but can't find anything other than Lyft or Uber that will pick us up at the hotel. Trying to avoid taking the hotel shuttle back to the airport to catch yet another shuttle. I'm new to Galveston cruising too, obvi.

The Hampton Inn has some cards for taxi drivers that can be booked in advance. Uber drivers were readily available on our cruise mornings Feb 17 & Feb 24. Open the app earlier than you need your actual ride & put in your address for a ‘mock’ booking to get an idea of wait times. This way you’ll know how far ahead to order your Uber. 7-10 minute waits for us. They know when ship days are so lots of drivers in Galveston those mornings.
