I think Progresso board has the least amount of specifics out of any of the boards I have ever been on. My goal is that when I am there (I will not be doing any excursions) but will post specific names, locations etc of massages, bars/restaurants/shopping etc. Hopefully I will be able to be more specific then "there is a bunch of places to eat along a road that I know nothing about and don't know where it is." :o

Progreso is not like many other ports as it appears at first glance to not offer a whole lot. It is a little town. The shopping consists of little shops/stalls set up all over the place and sell the typical touristy "stuff" as well as some "knock off" purses. There are multiple groups set up on the beach offering massages, chairs, drinks etc. They all really seemed similar to us. Can't say anything more about the places to eat other than there were some along the road which ran parallel to the beach.

When you arrive at the shuttle stop in the town, they will tell you the directions to the beach as well as a bit of info about other tours they offer. It was literally a 5 minute walk.
