Ft Laud port like ghost town in July. That would be a nightmare in January though Sent from my iPhone using Forums
moki'smommy Posted June 17, 2018 #3 Share Posted June 17, 2018 They've already figured that they will cut runways by 50% while only eliminating 25% of flights. Sure, it will decrease flexibility for a while and likely increase delays. But people will also choose to fly into Miami if flight times are worth the inconvenience and with a little flight manipulation, FLL will make changes to decrease passenger impact. As noted, this is not tourist season. No worries!
capriccio Posted June 17, 2018 #4 Share Posted June 17, 2018 Just be glad they have the 'new' (2014) south runway to use! As a Broward County resident, I'm glad they realize that the only time to take an entire runway off line is in the low season.
BNBR Posted June 17, 2018 #5 Share Posted June 17, 2018 Funny. We didn't even have 2 runways until a couple years ago. I'm sure the airport will be just fine with 1 runway again for a little bit.
bouhunter Posted June 18, 2018 #6 Share Posted June 18, 2018 Glad we only fly there in the winter.:p
Flymia Posted June 18, 2018 #7 Share Posted June 18, 2018 While FLL is busier now than it was a few years ago, it used to be pretty much a one runway airport for airliners for some time.
