Bikes to Diamond Head??

We will be staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in June and I was thinking about using some of the bike sharing bikes to get to Diamond Head. Is this a reasonable idea? It doesn't look too far. Is there a safe route that we can use? There will be three adults doing this.

Only to the parking area. You can't take a bike to the top.

The only road issue is the tunnel to the parking area. It is on the narrow side, difficult to walk. But doable.

It's up hill all the way to Diamond Head and even steeper to the parking lot.

Uber is a much better idea on many levels. Don't bike.

We rented scooters to get us to Diamond Head parking lot. They were quite reasonable and a lot of fun.

Huge mistake to take the Biki bike share bikes up a hill. They’re literally twice as heavy as a normal hybrid bike and don’t have the proper gears for the uphill you’ll face. If you want to do anything by bike go rent a proper hybrid or road bike- the bike share are only good for getting from place to place in Honolulu without any incline.
