ladyd11933 Posted September 16, 2009 #26 Share Posted September 16, 2009 So my wife and I were discussing the Cougar cruise. And my 8 year old son goes "what's a cougar cruise?" I said, "It is a cruise for people that like to watch cougars and are fans." He quickly replied "I thought you were talking about the cougars that were women who liked younger men!" HMMMM!!! I am slowly losing my advantage over him.. NOT GOOD!! Wait until they are 15 and 16 ...have one of each in my home - not sure what is funnier that they think they are getting one over on me with their "innocent comments" or when they realize that "old mom" actually knew what they were talking about....amazes me that they forget that we were kids. As far as the Cougar cruise, mine is only 5 years younger than me so I don't qualify as a Cougar (at least last time I checked)......as long as everyone is happy, more power to them!! I personally do not think it is trashy. I had a patient one time who was 70 and a young (and I mean like 18 young) was sitting at the bedside and I asked "oh is this your granddaughter?" and he said "no that is my wife." Well, crap, now I always says "and you are???" But it has been okay for men for years so as a woman who has just turned fabulous and 40, I say "go for it." I usually try to beat them to it and make some sort of double entendre type of quote! I have 3 teens and you know what? If the parent doesn't make such a big deal over it, the kids realize that we actually are 2 steps ahead of them and that those eyes in the vack of our heads have morphed into ESP! I kid of course as we have been very very lucky with ours in that they actually like to tow the line!! I have always said they were switched at birth and people that know me now actually wonder why I would say something like that! Go figure!:D

FantasyLineAddict Posted September 16, 2009 #30 Share Posted September 16, 2009 Think my husband would care if I went on this cruise? I like to watch ®Chance the Gardener Too funny about the 8 year old! My 8 year old said to me last week, "mom, you know what the grossest thing ever is? It's when old ladies like you have boyfriends that are like 25." She was talking about Ashton and Demi. For some reason, Demi gets to age while Ashton remains a kid - not fair! obnancy Posted September 16, 2009 #31 Share Posted September 16, 2009 I was just on the Splendor and I thought it was a cougar cruise. My honey and I had had fun watching a couple of well preserved ladies moving in on the some 20 something boys. By the third day they were canoodling all over the after jacuzzi/pool area. It was fun to watch the progression. Go Cougars!

nikkicaligirl Posted September 16, 2009 #33 Share Posted September 16, 2009 I actually have my wedding booked on that cruise! This should be really, really interesting especially since a lot of my sailing guests have never cruised before.

The single-women guests are going to get a huge boost to their self confidence if you don't tell anyone what's going on.

babyher Posted September 17, 2009 #39 Share Posted September 17, 2009 Funny thread :) Way back when before anyone used the terms "Cougar" and "Cub", the lounge at our local Holiday Inn was a notorious place for older women to snag young guys. We used to call it "The Room that Estrogen Forgot" *LOL*

LHP Posted September 17, 2009 #42 Share Posted September 17, 2009 I am amazed at how much little one's know at their age! Some of it is funny but some of it isn't because you wonder where they get it from. Sigh. Makes me jump for joy knowing we'll be trying next year, haha!!! Sorry to get off topic.... As for the original topic, does other cruiselines do themed cruises like this or is it only Carnival? I'm afraid Carnival may start getting a 'trashy' name for these sort of cruises. Yes? No? Maybe I'm wrong? All the cruise lines serve "groups" of various "themes". The last big complaint I heard was when a group of "bears" were filming a gay porn movie in a cabin on RCCL across the hallway from this family of 5 who were not amused. ......I think Carnival's reputation is safe.
