San Diego question

I am wondering which airport is close to cruise ships and how long does it take to get there.What time should my earliest flight be?Do not know the area and two airports came up on my search.

You want SAN which is San Diego International Airport. It is only a couple of miles from the cruise terminal.

When you fly into San Diego look to your left and you will see the dock.

 

The airport and the dock are about a minute apart if you are a seagull but about a 10 minute taxi ride.

 

Try to get in the day before if possible.

The only other commercial airport in the San Diego area is Palomar Airport in Carlsbad, which only has commuter type flights. It is about 35 miles from the pier. You definitely want to fly in and out of Lindberg Field (SAN) which is almost on the pier!!

 

Strongly recommend flying in the day before to avoid missing your cruise if you have weather or equipment delays.
