December weather....

We are taking children on Fantasy out of Mobile in December. Will it be warm enough for swimming?

Not sure where you're going, but I've been to Cozumel twice in December, and once in January. Water was on the cool side, but outdoor temps were nice and warm for swimming. Pools onboard, on the other hand, were freezing.

We have sailed to the eastern and southern caribbean in December.........beautiful weather......hot in ports, warm water and nice sunny sea days........

Actually December is my fav time to sail!!!

It may be cold when you sail. (we have been in the upper 80's in Dec as well as in the 30's) By the middle of the first seaday it gets warm enough outside to lay out.

No problem as the weather for Mobile is almost the same as New Orleans. What makes it feel so cold is the high humidity. I start looking for a jacket when it get below 70 degrees.

Thanks for your replies. Guess I should have mentioned that we are sailing from Mobile to Progresso and Cozumel.

 

 

Last January when we were in Merida (major town by Progresso) it was 96 and in the 80s in Cozumel. When we got back to NO, it was in the mid 50s. Still T shirt weather for us northeners.................:p

 

On our late January cruise out of Mobile, it was in the 70s when we left and the lower 50s when we returned. On that cruise, it rained in Cozumel, but was still warm.
