Calling home

What are my options when it comes to calling the kiddos back home while we're away? I have Metro PCS and can't use my phone out of the country. I know it's expensive to call while on the ship. Is it any less expensive when you are at port? Or is it possible to find a pay phone or something at the ports? If so, do I need a calling card or something?

Buy a calling card at a port and find a place with a quiet pay phone. We also email daily from the ship.

most of the ports have internet cafe near the ports and you can use a phone in them for .25 a minute or you can buy a phone card and use the pay phones, it cost more but sometimes you cant find an internet cafe.

I think I paid 40 cents a minute from a internet cafe, probably depends on which port you are calling home from how much it is.

When you are onboard ask a few crew members where is the best place in port to call home. They know all the good places as you will see them lined up to use phones in port
