clueless2 Posted November 2, 2009 #1 Share Posted November 2, 2009 If a HAL ship is in port on Easter Sunday and Good Friday do they hold a protestant/non-denom service? If so is it led by a member of the clergy or a member of the ship's staff? Anything special such as a sunrise service? We are considering a 10 day cruise this year that happens to be in port on both days.
jena1 Posted November 2, 2009 #2 Share Posted November 2, 2009 Last Easter aboard the Eurodam they had 2 protestant services, a beautiful one on the open deck at sunrise, and one later on.They also had 2 Catholic services.Happy sailing!:)
GmaPajama Posted November 2, 2009 #3 Share Posted November 2, 2009 I've never been on a HAL ship that didn't have a protestant minister onboard. The Easter sunrise service I attended on the Zaandam was very well done, and especially inspiring.
Jemima Posted November 2, 2009 #4 Share Posted November 2, 2009 Religious services on port days usually take place either before the ship arrives or after the ship departs.
timothy998 Posted November 3, 2009 #5 Share Posted November 3, 2009 Last March we caught Mass onboard ms Westerdam just before sailing. At one point as the altar was being set up, a couple wandered into the lounge on their explorations of the ship. Upon learning that Mass was soon to begin, the couple fled, even though we welcomed them to stay & join us. It was a very cool experience & is funded by donations to the Apostolate of the Seas.
