Better internet maps than Google for S.E.Asia?

Google maps are brilliant in Europe/US :)

but I'm finding them very difficult in S E Asia (Malaysia to Vietnam)

Even fairly significant place-names are either corrupted or missing entirely, or disappear at different zoom-levels, or only lead to advertising. And their conversion of local scripts to our alphabet seems at odds with other web-sites

Just spent an hour hunting for Port Gelong, the port for Kuatan, found it now, but its all doing my head in.

Is there another map-site which will make life easier?

Many thanks, John Bull
