CanCruzer Posted November 20, 2009 #1 Share Posted November 20, 2009 There was a thread not too long ago where fridge sizes where discussed and the fact that you couldn't stand a wine bottle up in one. There is a picture of a fridge in the 4th row from the bottom at the website http://abqreunion2008.com/Westerdam/index.html Is this the standard size on the verandah staterooms on the Statendam? Looks like if I removed the shelf I could easily put a bottle or two of wine in it standing upright.
jetwet1 Posted November 20, 2009 #2 Share Posted November 20, 2009 We were on the Westerdam a month ago, we emptied our fridge and managed to fit 4 wine bottles inside standing up.
Krazy Kruizers Posted November 20, 2009 #3 Share Posted November 20, 2009 Keep in mind that these are not regular refrigerators -- they are coolers and just cool items -- not keep anything realy cold.

As far as I can tell from working with all the photos on my site, yes that is the standard size of the non Penthouse refridgerators on most, if not all HAL ships. Here is a better picture for you: http://abqreunion2008.com/Westerdam/TB_8147_15.gif and here is a photo of it at floor level (closed under the desk, under the right side of the TV): http://abqreunion2008.com/Westerdam/2AtSea_Westerdam-Dec-2005-006.jpg and one more with it being under the left side of the tv http://abqreunion2008.com/Westerdam/GP_Westerdam_081.jpg this way you get a better idea of the size. But REMEMBER what Krazy Kruizers said, they do not always keep everything really really cold, they do keep things kind of cold though from what I have read from others. I do not know for sure because I never went into ours. Hubby however, did keep his Mountain Dew in ours and never complained. AECrowell Posted November 20, 2009 #5 Share Posted November 20, 2009 Are there fridges in the Ryndam's large ocean-view staterooms? (I don't think we had them on the Maasdam?) Thanks!

On the R-class and S-class ships (of which Ryndam and Maasdam are two) you only get the fridges in the Verandah, Deluxe Verandah, and Penthouse categories - BC and higher. For C and lower cabins, you can rent one for $2 per day.
