MIA to PT everglades- which hotel?

We're arriving in Miami on Dec 2nd and I've rented a car that

will be dropped off at FLL airport on the 3rd. I got it for $15 on priceline and am planning to get a hotel through them as well.

As we have the car we can either stay in the Miami area or

start heading towards Ft lauderdale. Any recommendations for a

decent area? Close to a mall would be nice as we'll have a few hrs to

kill in the morning. I'd need to know what the priceline area is as I'll be

bidding and won't be able to pick a specific hotel that way. We have to

drop the car off at the airport- Hollywood? so close to the port isn't

necessary. Anyone know if ALamo delivers to the port from the airport

for free?
