Budget queen and others help self touring

We're going on the Coral Princess in August, southbound. Princess landtours all sold out. What suggestions do you have for arriving 2-3 days early and getting another type of tour to Denali or anything else that would be interesting. One overnight on this land tour is what I envision, we want to be in Anchorage Friday night to leave Saturday for Whittier. I checked Grey Line and they do not have overnights out of Anchorage. Thank you very much for any suggestions.

You do not have enough time for Denali. So I would suggest perhaps renting a car and choosing something of interest in the Anchorage area?

Consider an overnight in Talkeetna or Seward and activities from either. Plan stops along the way. I would suggest you take the regular run of the Alaska RR to Whittier for $49 pp leaving at 10am.
