best place for shopping?

Recommended Posts

Congrats on your cruise. The best place to buy silver jewelry is in Cozumel. But beware, you have to haggle. Never pay what they ask at first. Offer what you are willing to pay or what you think it is worth. In my experience about half what they are asking. Don't be shy or timid. Don't be afraid to let him walk away. There are plenty of places to buy the same stuff. Once you get the knack of it this can be fun. Good deals can be had on handicrafts in Jamaica. Once again, be prepared to haggle. The vendors in Jamaica are much more, how should I say this?, intense, than in Mexico. So be prepared. If you are going to Ocho Rios and want to purchase alcohol, that is the best place to do it. At the pier there is a shop called Cruise Booze. They have the best prices and will deliver your stuff right to the ship. Sangster's Rum Cream is to die for. You can sample it right there. Also Appleton Rum is very nice. If you like your booze like rocket fuel, try Wrey's Overproof Rum. Have a great cruise. Those are all great ports. Bon Voyage

I have to agree with joeyancho... you must negotiate. Cozumel for leather and silver. Jamaica for jewelry/watches(after they ply you with a couple of Red Stripes, it's all good)!!! Grand Cayman doesn't provide a good exchange rate for the USD.
