Noblemount Posted December 10, 2009 #2 Share Posted December 10, 2009 Sounds as if we are on the same cruise in Jan 2010.We have booked a ship excursion from Manaus as we have never been before but there is a website that I have just come across 'Manaus Tours' by locals. What they are like I have no idea but I suppose you would expect it tobe Cheaper than P&O.See you up The Amazon got your Mossie Tablets and Yellow Fever Jab ?;)

Manuas can be done independantly the ship docks in the city, however we did not hear anything about 'Manaus Tours'. I would recommend staying with P&O for security, a few passengers were mugged in the city, and the info you will receive. From all the ports I strongly recommend going on trips further into the forest on smaller boats, the experience is amazing, the Pirahna fishing is not to be missed. At Santerem or Paratins there is a folklore show, we didn't go as it is not our thing, but those who did thought it was very good. I would go again, the Amazon is an amazing place.
