Final Payment and extension

Recommended Posts

Has anyone ever gotten an extension on their final payment date? A family traveling with us needs another week or so to pay their final payment and was wondering if RCCL will allow it.
We all booked directly with Rccl. TIA

Never hurts to ask. They will sometimes. If you are booked as a group, none of the documents will get issued until all the people in the group are paid or cancelled.

As long as they have actual money on deposit, there should be no problem with getting an extension for final payment by a week or two. Group bookings work a little differently (as Nitra said.) Failure to make final payment by longer than a few weeks could result in cancellation and loss of the deposit money, though.

We actually just had this happen for our 7/18 to Bermuda--had the wrong Final Payment date penciled in on the calendar...turned out to be two weeks earlier than we thought...and despite the best efforts of my TA, even with a $1000 deposit already paid, RCCL wouldn't extend...we would have lost the res., and had to rebook, with no guarantee of availablity...and our cabins would be $800 more!!

Fortunately, the in-laws came through with a short term, 11th hour loan...everyone is paid off now, and we're counting the days!!
