Do Not Support Photo Tips w/ Animals

You will notice people soliciting tips in the tourist areas for photos taken w/ their exotic pet (monkey, tortoise, iguana, sloth, etc) abuse the animals. Many baby animals are purposely orphaned when the mother is killed so that the baby can be used to make a buck. I observed a young boy abusing his tortoise by slapping its shell when it wanted to come out. Some pets are kept in small cages and not allowed to move about freely. Unless you absolutely know that the person is treating their pet humanely; please do not support this business. When they realize that no one will support them through tips; they will leave the animals in nature where they belong.

How do you know all of this? Except for the turtle incident that you witnessed where are you getting your information and "facts". Does it hurt a turtle to slap on it's shell? Do we know this for a "fact"?

I do not want to be a "hard a$$" BUT I make my decisions based on facts NOT statements. So IF you have facts I am all ears (eyes). Thank you.
