robinph Posted January 9, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 9, 2010 We are sailing on Sun Princess 5th Feb to NZ and were wondering if anyone who has done this cruise recentley could tell us what theme nights they have on board do they still have a island night? thought it might get a bit chilly up on deck in those waters unless they had it on the night we left Bay of Islands, just curious, thanks Robin:)

You will probably find that the island night will be whilst you are on the north island where the climate is alot warmer. Have a wonderful time. We are off on the Dawn Princess for the same cruise on the 6th Feb...cant wait! :D
Rare Kinkacruiser Posted January 9, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 9, 2010 Hi Robin, I see from you photo that you have the right outfit for it. As Cazz said, it will be in the Bay of Islands if you stop there. Western night is also very popular and there were lots of cowboys and cowgirls linedancing the night away on our Oct. cruise. Theme night parties don't start till at least 9.30pm, but it's quite OK to wear you special outfit to dinner. Have a great time. Anna
Debsta Posted January 10, 2010 #4 Share Posted January 10, 2010 Just disembarking from Sun now from NYE to NZ. NO Island night. In fact people were complaining becausing there wasn't one. Some people would complain about anything............it would have been island night with thermals, beanies, parkas and scarfs :D:p in Force 7 Gale winds It will depend on the weather, the cruise director and the F&B as to whether they can do it on deck. kaseyoz Posted January 23, 2010 #5 Share Posted January 23, 2010 Just returned from 12 night South Pacific cruise. The theme "nights" only went for an hour, a few games etc and that was that. they were held in the vista lounge. Hardly anyone dressed up (50s, country and western)except for island night. they also had 2 other outside parties/discos. Island night also featured the latenight dessert buffet.
