Airfare to Europe

Has anyone been successful in obtaining reasonable airfare out of NY to Rome for travel on the Carnival Liberty? I thought that prices would have been a little less by now. My wife and I, along with friends are booked on the 9/30/05 sailing.

 

Haven't travelled to Europe in a few years. What do you think is a reasonable fare from NY to Rome?

You should be able to get a flight for less than $700. The first place I would look would be the search site called "Mobissimo". If you find a flight you like, click on it and it will send you to the source's website-- very cool.

I booked Continental Airlines for our 9/18/05 sailing on the Carnival Liberty. I preferred Newark, so we got Newark to Rome non-stop RT for $684 pp. I had been keeping a watch on the prices on sidestep.com, but booked it through Continental's website.

Thanks for the replies. I was successful in getting a fair of $656.82 r/t per per person for the dates I needed, so I feel pretty good. The fair includes all of the taxes and is non-stop on Alitalia.
