Steve-N-Steph Posted February 13, 2012 #1951 Share Posted February 13, 2012 Still working this. Found chev impala for 83$ at the sears location.is that near the airport? bump - Look at budget car rental. I just did a mock booking through them. I don't know your exact days but I put in March 10th pickup at melbourne and returning March 11th in port canaveral. I got prices anywhere from $30 for a car to $68 for a minivan. I used this discount code: Y937800 I found this code on cruise critic. It is a Florida travel discount code, used successfully by lot's of cc'rs. You can read a thread about it here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1553664

x62675f1 Posted February 13, 2012 #1953 Share Posted February 13, 2012 Beer and wine no. That being said I know one of the 2 liquor stores here ABC does not open until 1pm on Sunday. The other is Yogi's. You could call them. So there are laws that restrict hard alcohol? Scotch, vodka, etc? I just want to know if I can even buy that in a grocery store on Sunday mornings. russianmom Posted February 15, 2012 #1961 Share Posted February 15, 2012 You might want to bring a roll of quarters. You will stop 4 times and each has an exact change lane than is faster.I would also see if you pass from up north would work. Its not the money it is time consuming to stop. Both excellent ideas- thanks again
laurspag Posted February 16, 2012 #1962 Share Posted February 16, 2012 Sorry I haven't taken the time to go back through all the pages here. I went on Monarch of the Seas back in May, and we decided that we would stay at the La Quinta Oceanfront. We went down on a Saturday for a Monday cruise, so that we could use the day in between to visit Kennedy Space Center. La Quinta was a nice place to stay. Nothing over the top, but clean, comfortable and they had a friendly staff. We are looking to go on Freedom in February of 2013, which I know is a long ways away. I was thinking since we are only going to be there overnight, and there will be just two of us, maybe we might stay at a nicer place. Once again, there was nothing wrong with LaQuinta. We are thinking that we might want to stay in the Cape Canaveral area this time. Can you make a suggestion for hotel that perhaps has a restaurant in it or a good place to eat that we can just walk to?
jenelizab Posted February 18, 2012 #1963 Share Posted February 18, 2012 I have two questions, if anyone can help: 1. Are Alamo and Enterprise the same in Cape Canaveral? I am trying to figure out the best way to get from Disney to Pt. Canaveral. If we rent a car, Alamo is best, because they have locations on Disney property and a shuttle from our resort. I tried calling the Cape Canaveral location, because I wanted to know if they had a shuttle from the rental office to the cruise terminal. They were closed, but the answering machine said it was an Enterprise. The phone number is the same on both web sites (Enterprise and Alamo). Does anyone know what gives? 2. If we don't rent a car, I'm looking at using Star Trans. Does anyone have any experience with them? Sorry if this has been discussed already. I tried searching and didn't find anything. Any info would be greatly appreciated. This thread is awesome!

Free cruise parking with an overnight stay Breakfast buffet for $9.95, some higher rates include breakfast Radisson webcam (points to the port): http://www.radissonport.com/CruiseShips.htm ROOM INFORMATION PER REQUEST None of the rooms will give you an ocean view since they are several blocks from the ocean. The standard rooms are only 2 stories. the suite buildings are 3 stories. For standard rooms and either the 200 or 400 building for suites. The 200 building is closer to the pool although the pool area may get quite noisy so if you want a quiet area request courtyard view. The most favorite rooms are in the 800 building 2nd floor facing the pool. Be aware that most of the pool side rooms are king rooms. There are just a few rooms with 2 beds facing the pool. Due to the construction of high rise condo's, there are very few rooms that will give you small views of the ships unfortunalty none have a wide open view of the port any more. MESSAGE FROM JOE P. GreytRacer Posted February 23, 2012 #1975 Share Posted February 23, 2012 I see on the list of hotels in post #862 the International Palms Resort is referred to as the "old Holiday Inn". would that be the same Holiday Inn I would have stayed in in the early 1990's? Also, if the choice was between the International Palms and La Quinta (not the Inn and Suites one), which would you pick? We're looking for low cost accomadations for a week in early June and these 2 hotels are showing about the same price. Doesn't need to be fancy, but does need to be clean! Thanks!
