Buying cigarettes on board Summit

Does the Summit still sell duty free cigarettes? And are we still allowed to purchase them and take them with us? (I know you cannot take alcohol)

Also - do they sell cigarettes at the bars by the pack?

I know there is a very strict smoking policy but to be able to buy cigarettes at duty free shops is alot cheaper than at home.

Don't want to start a thread about smoking - just want to know about purchasing them on board.

On the Mercury this last November, a 5 carton pack of Marlboro's cost $100.00, so it was $20.00 a carton. Beware, however, that US Citizens are only allowed to bring ONE carton back into the US (I was shocked too!). At the end of the cruise, I carried two cartons and my roomie carried two (I smoked the other one during the cruise). We declared them on our customs form. I asked the customs official if I had to pay duty on the second carton. He told me that normally, yes, but since we disclosed them, he would waive it.

I saw a lady come off the ship with about five (5) five packs of cigs and a bunch of booze she bought in the Duty Free on board. I was curious to see what would happen with her, but I lost her in the crowd.

Thanks everyone!! By chance did anyone notice if they had Marlboro Ultra Lights in the shop onboard?

Have found they don't carry them in alot of duty free shops.

thanks! sailing on Saturday!!:)

I didn't see them. The selection can be limited. I do remember Marlboro Reds, Marlboro Lights, either Kools or Newports and few others, but not Ultra lights.

They had them on board the Infinity last April. I had everyone in my family get me a carton <G>

I think almost all ships sell cigarettes by the carton - my niece purchased cartons and also purchased them in a 1/2 carton (5 pack) size. I'm pretty sure they don't sell them by the individual pack anywhere on the ship though.

Cigarettes are sold by the pack at least at the poolside and casino bars (even if you can't smoke there).
