Toto2Kansas Posted January 27, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 27, 2010 The best place to ask would be the west coast departure board. It can be located here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=
leoandhugh Posted January 27, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 27, 2010 And it might help you get a meaningful answer if you told us which CA port you are referring to - SanDiego, SanPedro, SanFrancisco - to name just 3:)
Cozzette2 Posted January 27, 2010 #4 Share Posted January 27, 2010 If you are cruising out of Long Beach or san Pedro it is much closer to fly into Long Beach than LAX. If you stay in either Long Beach or san Pedro most hotels have a shuttle service to the pier. we stayed at the Best Western in Long Beach and they had a shuttle, but others can give you some other options for places to stay. Good luck, Kis
Cruisin' Chick Posted January 27, 2010 #5 Share Posted January 27, 2010 looking for sugestions where to stay for a good price near port in california. Also the best way to travel from LAX to port. thanks If you're talking about going on the Sapphire Princess to the Mexican Riviera or the Golden Princess to Hawaii, you are sailing out of the Port of L.A., which is located in San Pedro. The cruiseline area is called the World Cruise Center. If you are flying in the day before your cruise, you'll probably will want to stay in San Pedro. And if you look at the Western Destinations area here on CC, you'll find recommendations for only two hotels in that area: the Crowne Plaza or the Doubletree. You can either take a taxi or a shuttle service (such as the Supershuttle; there are others too) to get from the airport to the port. Also, a word of advice, if you are flying home the day you return to the port: don't book any flights earlier than 1pm. The traffic here come get jammed up even on weekends.
