Marriott resort St Kitts

After trying for a few weeks to find out some information with no results, I finally called the resort today. We will be there next week.

I was told that if they are not completely full, they will offer day passes. She checked the day we are going to be there and said it is not full. It is $35 per person + 22% tax. You do get 10% off some food and beverage, use of pool and beach, and chairs.

As of now, I think we are going to try it. I will come back here and post when we get home!

Yes, day passes are offered. When we were there, we were charged $35 per person but no tax. If you locate another thread, you will see the problems that we encountered. They would not honor the day room rate of $65 plus taxes though I had a email detailing what we were offered etc. Honestly, it is a beautiful place but it really bugged me as I wasted nearly one hour with the front desk as they were not budging and made it sound like I made it all up. I would go back but walk right through to the beach, which is free. In the afternoon, there were numerous people from the ship who just showed up and jumped in the pool....for free.

Do you know if thisday pass rate remains the same year round? I know it is based on availability, but we are cruising mid-February(yep, you got it, school break time, ugh!) and hoping there is a slight chance the resort isn't running full capacity.

We were there last February and the rates were the same. We ate lunch at the restaurant at the pool and used beach chairs at the ocean. It is on the Atlantic side and the water was a little wavy and a lot of fun.

Thanks so much for replying. We were in St. Kitt's in February 2010 and went to a beach with a pier that the local children were jumping from. It was less than impressive. As a matter of fact, we passed the beautiful Marriott on the way to this beach. We certainly will give the "day pass" a try. Hopefully, they won't be running a full house on Feb. 24th.

The day pass rate is consistent year round but, as mentioned in other posts, is subject to the resort's occupancy. You won't need to register for one in advance but you should call the hotel before departing to make sure that day passes are available on the day your in port....the taxi drivers will take you there regardless and you don't want to get turned away once you get there!

The holiday time, Dec 20-Jan 10, is typical black-out dates for the cruise ship day pass.

If you're coming for the casino, it currently opens at 12pm on Friday and 4pm on Tuesdays - the only two cruise ship days running this time of year.

Hope this helps some of you out...I live on island and have been on a couple cruises so I'm familiar with the activities/expectations of the passengers. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

Thanks so much for your expertise. It looks like we will be in St. Kitts on January 26 so hoping that the black-out dates are indeed over by then.

I'll definitely be in touch when questions arise. Thanks again.

I am a Marriott Vacation Club multi-week owner, so I an wondering if I can get a guest pass to use at the St. Kitts Vacation Club. Also, if you are on a ship, how do you 'reserve' the day pass 24-hours in advance. Is this something you can do perhaps before you leave home?

Just received this e-mail today (below) Seems that some are quoted $65 for a day pass and others (me) $65 per person for the day pass:

Here's the information about the St. Kitts Marriott day pass

What You Get for Your Money: Conveniently, this resort offers with-room and without-room options. If you'd like daytime use of accommodations, the cost is $65 per person. Without a room, the cost is $35. Either way, pass-holders are entitled to use of the resort's pool, spa and restaurant. Meals, drinks and spa treatments cost extra.

How to get there: From port, this resort is just 15 minutes by taxi.

Please make your reservations for the day pass as soon as possible before your cruise.

For reservations: Call 869-466-1200

Enjoy your trip to St. Kitts and Nevis.

THis is apparently a third party, selling the day passes, and will confirm with a voucher.

They are offering me (with deposit) (which is actually their fee) the day after Christmas, which is certainly the resort's holiday season.

Has anyone used this company?

I am willing to pay a small fee in addition to the resort cost, to ensure that we will indeed have a place to go, in the resorts high season.

I wouldn't do it. It clearly states "Subject to Change, Subject to Availability." It is not a local company in St. Kitts but located in Barbados.

It has also been mentioned countless times that the holiday period in St. Kitt is considered Dec 20-Jan 10 and this is the typical black-out dates for the cruise ship day pass.

We did not have to pay to use the beach at the Marriott. We went through the lobby, to the beach, and asked the attendants if there was a fee to rent chairs - they took us to a palapa and made sure there were chairs. We did not use the pool. We bought a couple of beers from the pool restaurant. There is an outdoor shower to rinse off the sand. It was totally free, and I do not feel like we scammed anything, since I specifically asked the attendants for a price. Your mileage may vary, but unless you need the room, I would check with the beach boys first.

So then we can take a taxi to the Marriott, and just use the beach for only the cost of chairs and umbrellas, correct? I wonder if they'd let you use their restrooms? lol :p Obviously we can use the restaurant since we'd be paying anyway. Hmmm.......
