Hi,

Has anyone done the Indian River Row boats? The tour includes an excursion on an Indian Row Boat and then a stop and the Purple Turtle Beach Bar. It is offered by RCI.

Thank you!

We had the pleasure of this tour last year and I highly recommend it. Starts with a full tour of this very beautiful island on the way to the river. Spectacular, peaceful scenery as you float up this deserted river. Very different from anything else we had every experienced in the islands.

The day ends up oceanside to have a drink on the way back to the ship.:)

Gotta point out that any water- and river-related sports adventures

are likely to find water levels on local rivers somewhat reduced.

The Caribbean has been in the grip of a barometric high pressure vice

-and a resulting drought or near-drought situation

since around October!

Great for visitors, but not so good for local water supply!

Barbados is brown and dry, looks like MAY, and it's not even the end of Feb. yet!

We've not had much rain at all for awhile, and I should think the situation is much the same in all the islands.

This has been a rather dry Wet Season (Aug - Dec.2009)

-and now comes the usual Dry Season (Jan. - June 2010)

Please use water carefully, on the islands, when you're ashore.

It's limited, at this time.

The big rains won't be here again until July, earliest.
