mikjr Posted February 16, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2010 We're cruising on the Golden in a couple of weeks. We have an "obstructed view" on the Emerald Deck, Room E226. Based on diagrams on the Princess site, there appears to be a deck area at the front of the ship on the Emerald deck. Can that deck be accessed from the inside hallway? Or do you have to go outside? or up then down?? On the diagram, there doesn't appear to be a door that leads to that area

It is accessed from the promenade deck (both starboard and port). There is a set of stairs that take you up to the Emerald deck level. They are (not visible in the picture) just forward of the the most forward life boat where Emerald is on the side of the ship. If you look at a deck plan for the Promenade deck it has a dotted area with the note "Promenade Deck continues on Emerald Deck". There is also an indication of the stairs. Have a great trip. I just wanted to clarify, the doors are on the Emerald deck itself, right?? I know there's not much of a deck, but appears to be a small one at the front of the ship, and since we're on that floor with an obstructed view, it would be nice to have direct access without having to go up or down. thanks

Don't confuse it with the viewing areas found on the Island/Coral. Thats what I love about those forward Emerald rooms, you have your own balcony right down the hall. As you walk around the bow of the Star and Golden, I believe there are crew lounges and exercise rooms located in those areas tucked under the bow promenade. As we were leaving SYD, you could see crew members in there relaxing and some working out. Ciao for now!!!
