AuTiger7 Posted February 17, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 17, 2010 We are traveling to Costa Maya, Santos Tomas Guatemala, Belize City, and Cozumel aboard the Norwegian Spirit and I was wondering whether the ship and port of call time will be the same. We are traveling right after we spring forward an hour.
suzequ Posted February 17, 2010 #2 Share Posted February 17, 2010 Whenever the ship crosses into a new time zone they adjust their time accordingly. They will let you know when this occurs in the Freestyle Dailies which you'll get in your cabin every night.
NMLady Posted February 17, 2010 #3 Share Posted February 17, 2010 Usually ship time is the same as local time because the ship adjusts clocks when changing time zones. However, I remember an occasion when local time was different. It was in the Caribbean but I don't remember which port. The ship noted the difference, in the ship's newsletter. There are clocks on the ship with ship's time. Always set your watch to ship's time since being back onboard will be by ship's time not local time if they are different. PnkyandtheBrain Posted February 18, 2010 #4 Share Posted February 18, 2010 Having just completed the Spirit trip (1/31/10 sailing). The ship's time remains the same as New Orleans throughout the entire trip... All of your ports of call are in the same time zone. Probably one of the easiest cruises for this sort of thing. Brad We had the same experience on our Spirit cruise back in November. The ship remained on New Orleans time throughout the entire cruise.

If they are going in and out of a time zone, and returning back to the original, sometimes they do not change. Good news is that the vendors/tour people ashore know what is going on. World Gallery Posted February 21, 2010 #7 Share Posted February 21, 2010 We are going on NCL out of New Orleans in March 28th, after the time change. Belize does not "spring forward" so therefore, this may be the only time adjustment. We have been on the NCL out of New Orleans in Feb., before the time change in the USA and yes, all the port times did stay the same but this time, since we are going after the USA time change, it will be different, at least for Belize. If anyone knows anything different, please post. Thanks!
