MiniMom57 Posted February 23, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 23, 2010 I have a friend who is going to Aruba with a small group for 5 days and wants to know if it would be better to pack liquor or to buy it there? If it is no more expensive than at home, she won't bother packing it. thanks in advance!
Putterdude Posted March 5, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 5, 2010 I don't know about the price of liquor but a 6 pack of Balashi beer cost me $19 in a supermarket. I will never complain about the cost of beer in Canada again.

What store was this? That price is way too high for a six pack. I see from Arubalisa's link that Ling and Sons sells a six pack for $8.10 US. I haven't found the prices of anything to be too outrageous, considering it's an island and everything has to be brought in. We usually bring some wine with us, with no problem. Arubalisa Posted March 6, 2010 #7 Share Posted March 6, 2010 For groceries because they are shipped in, we figure about 25-30% higher. You can get some good prices on South American wines.

I see from Arubalisa's link that Ling and Sons sells a six pack for $8.10 US. I purchased it at a small market about 6 blocks from the pier and then checked again at a Chinese supermarket about a block off the street that runs parallel with the street that runs along the water and found almost the same price.
