Radio,

Thanks so much for your 'Live' reporting! If I wasn't already excited about our upcoming trip sailing with you has really heightened the anticipation. Thanks for posting all the great photos. I can't wait...

According to your pictures, the casino looks to have a non-smoking section, is that true? We are gonna LOVE that. Again, thank you for all that you do!

Yes, the Starboard half of the Casino is non Smoking. . .

Radio, hope that you made it home safely aboard the Autotrain. Thank you for your wonderful report...it really made me feel like I was there and have a better understanding of this great ship. And a big thank you to Mrs. Radio for allowing you to take all the time to communicate with all of us.

Did you have any opportunity to see or get any information on the Central Park view cabins (w/o balcony)? I know you had a Cat D balcony, but we are booked on Oasis for next April for a family of 4 and the pricing makes this category more attractive than a balcony (and bigger too). However, if it feels to cramped or the location is not decent, I'll spend the difference and lose some space to go up to the balcony cabin.

Unfortunately, there don't appear to be many reviews of this cabin category.

Again, thanks for all of your wonderful information.

Radio- thanks so much for allowing me to cruise along with you virtually! I really appreciate you taking time on your vacation to keep us excited and wanting more! Even though my cruise isn't until 2012, it is so great to see your pictures and get your perspective on things. Hope you had a safe trip home, and again thank you so much for taking time out of your vacation to do this for all of us!

The photos do not appear in some of them, because the 2 Photoservers I used went out of business (can you imagine?) Club Photo, and Imagestation (Sony) both went out of biz a couple years ago. That's why I now use Fotki (The worlds largest)

The only ship where the showers are situated as you describe is the soon to debut, NCL EPIC. On Oasis and all other RCI ships (and most, if not all, others) the shower is situated in the bathroom and when you step out of the shower you are in the- bathroom- not the middle of the stateroom. Radio may have had the bathroom door open in order to get a photo of the shower, but ordinarily that door would be closed when you are showering.

Thanks for the claification.

Good. Walking out of the shower into the main part of the cabin makes zero sense to me. But I guess there will always be some designer who wants to be innovative no matter how stupid the idea is.

i had no idea that the oasis had an outdoor movie screen. what movies were shown and how was the seating? now rc has everything the other ships had before........

There are two which are located on each side of the dive platform. The large screens are mainly used for the water and fountain shows. They did show a few of the football playoff games and one or two movies during the week. I liked that they did not go all day and night with the large screens since we had a cabin on the aft overlooking this area.

When we were sailing on Independence last month we were docked across from the Coral Princess in Ft. Lauderdale. That ship had its MUTS (movies under the stars) screen going on the pool deck. I found it to be a visual nightmare and hoped that RCI would never put such monstrosities on their ships. I hope it is set up better and not so intrusive on Oasis.

The major difference between the Oasis and Princess/Carnival is that on the Oasis, it's not located up on the pool deck. It's in an area just off the Boardwalk purpose built for the Aqua Theater. It does not affect a person trying to relax during the day when sunning or enjoying the pool area.

Radio,

I have followed your posts this week and have really enjoyed the info you shared on Oasis. I have been an Oasis fan since I first heard that RCCL was starting the "Genesis" project. But I must say, I feel like I've learned more about this beautiful ship in the past week than I have since the keel laying. Thank you for sharing your vacation with the rest of us! I look forward to reading your review and seeing more pics of this beautiful ship!
