SwingChickie Posted March 7, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 7, 2010 my BF and i will be on the century in a few weeks. last time we were on the ship, we went to the karaoke night and it was "eh"... not a huge selection of songs and the layout of the club made it hard for people to get really into it. this time, we'll be with friends who also love karaoke... would love to know if the song selection has improved in the last few years? and also -- what do YOU sing on karaoke night? :D
montgomeryfamily Posted March 7, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 7, 2010 We were on the Century in December and were very disappointed in the selection of songs available. The Century only had a small booklet (pamphlet size--looked a lot like a drink menu) with songs and two of the discs containing songs didn't even work. There was also karoke only on two nights and for only an hour each time. There was only time for eight or nine people to sing--the staff spends time setting up and chatting in the time allocated and on neither day did all of the people who wanted to sing get to do so. We wrote comments that this needs to be improved with more songs (Royal Caribbean ships have a large book of songs) and expanded sessions or more days, as karoke was very popular on that sailing and, from our experience, usually is a popular activity. So if it hasn't changed, you should also write comments on the post cruise comment survey form--perhaps if enough people comment, this will be improved.
