BethV114 Posted March 10, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 10, 2010 Okay. I was looking around online and it appears that DH and I could rent a car at the port in Cozumel for about $30 for the day. We are planning on going to Chankanaab for a dolphin enounter with our daughter, who will be 15 months old at the time. Apparently she will be allowed to participate with us free of charge. Because she'll still be a young toddler, we have decided to bring DD's car seat with us on our cruise to use on the flight to FLL and in getting to/from the hotel, port, etc. We were wondering what to do with DD's car seat when we realized that if we just rent a car for the day, we will be able to install it at our leisure (no rushing by the driver!) and leave it in the car for the day while we're at the park. To me, the $30 or so to do this is well worth it and from what I understand we'd be paying at least about $20 for roundtrip transportation by taxi, anyway. DH is concerned, though, about the safety of driving in Cozumel. He's actually not so concerned about getting into an accident, but he has this ridiculous fear of being pulled over by a police officer and being forced to pay them a bribe. Now, I know this is silly, but he insists that he has heard of this happening and wanted me to post here to see what others think about my idea of renting the car. Any thoughts, comments, ideas, experiences or advice would be greatly appreciated!:o
