Okay, thanks, I will check it out. Not interested in "food" but maybe they have something else. ;)

We used Karambole tours in December. It was great--the guide speaks excellent English and we got to see a lot. The food tastings are just various island pastries, fruit and drinks--nice, but the tour doesn't focus on food.

It's hard to find tours in Martinique, so we were so happy to come across this excursion.

Just wanted to add that we took this tour last month & it was great! Christelle is a former teacher who has lots to tell about the island & makes the "tastings" herself. She told us she is the only actual tour operator (versus cab driver) & many drivers only speak French, so we were very glad to find this. Her business is pretty new, but sounds like word got out fast!

If you want to book with Karambole do it early! Already full when we contacted them and it was nearly six months out.

Agreed! She is already booked for our Oct date :(

Found a couple of other tours on Viator; however, neither seem "available" on our date (25 Oct).

We found this guy at the port and boy am I glad we did! He took us on the most awesome tour of the island and charged in our choice of euros or usd. The van was new and clean with air conditioning. We stopped at Balata Cathedral (Sacre-Coeur de Balata), several points in the rain forest, Distillerie duPaz (and bought some souvenirs after a taste-test or 12), St. Pierre, Bellefontaine, etc. He was so informative and pointed out many of the lesser known landmarks. He offered to stop numerous times for photos or souvenirs. We didn't stop at the gardens though he says he typically does - we found him too late in the afternoon to fit it all in. We paid $35 euros or $40 per person.

Everyone gave him a HUGE tip (30%) because we enjoyed him and the tour so much. Our family will be back to STAY thanks to Alex.

I'm finding it very hard to get information on tour companies in Martinique. When I do, the info is in french, and it's been a long time since I took french in high school.:D Can anyone help? There hasn't been much activity here.

We toured with Thomas Vincent back in October. Such a great guy. We spent a lot of time at the Rum factory and ended up having only a few min at the beach... but it is what it is. Martinique is beautiful, we drove all over the island.

We went with Thomas and Taxi Norden-Vencent in March to St. Pierre and the DePaz Distillery. He was very good and patient with my FIL, who has mobility issues. We had a great day with just the 4 of us. Email is taxi.norden.vincent at gmail dot com.

Used Karambole Tours in January 2018. To say it was great is an understatement. The guide, Christelle speaks excellent English. The food tastings are various island pastries, fruit and drinks, nice, but the tour doesn't focus on food. The tour lasts 4+ hours and included the following stops.

Sacre-Coeur de Balata, Replica of a famous monument in Paris

Alma River

Saut Gendarme waterfall

Ruins of the theater in Saint Pierre

Depaz Rhum distillery

Short stop at the grey sand beach (20 minutes)

Christelle was very easy to locate when departing the ship and her van was modern and in good condition. It is a small group tour and she is able to take US Dollars, Euros and credit cards.

Highly Recommend this tour

Just got back from Pride Journeys and our 2nd trip to Martinique. Nothing like the first time! We just got off the ship and picked a woman who was at the pier. There were 4 couples in a very clean a/c van. About a 3 hour tour, stop for a local beer and to see hummingbirds. Cannot remember her name or driver's name and asked for a card but she did not have one, but it was a very very good tour. Very pretty woman wearing an Aloha t shirt at the pier!!! So even if you don't have a pre planned excursion, there are many good tours for last minute.

We had a great day with Brandon. He's actually an American who lives on the island. He was super flexible and accommodating. We definitely recommend him! Here's his info:

We just did a tour with Brandon! It was awesome! We got to truly enjoy the best of Martinique. And we felt fortunate to have our tour experience with Brandon as many on our cruise seem not enjoy their time in Martinique. We loved our time in Martinique

We also highly recommend Karambole Tours for Martinique. Cristelle had a second guide since her tour had booked up quickly - a very pleasant young man named Bruno, and Cynthia drove our new air-conditioned Mercendes SUV; we followed Cristelle's van highlighting the above-mentioned stops and sites. The "tastings" were excellent and I found St. Pierre (the ruins of the volcano eruption in 1902) especially interesting.

This tour was our favorite of our recent 14 day Circle Caribbean cruise on Caribbean Princess. The people of Martinique seemed quite friendly, as well. So glad that we booked this tour with Cristelle - you can't go wrong. A big thank you to Bruno and Cynthia! You guys are awesome!

Any of you have any experience with Pointe Marin Beach? It is part of a ship tour in January. Tour description is a bit vague, no mention of lounge chairs or umbrellas being available. One member of our group would enjoy being topless. Legal, suspect few do it.
