A few Questions about St. Maarten

Recommended Posts

My fiance and I are going onboard the Carnival Dream April 24th for our honeymoon. We have booked the St. Maarten by Jeep excursion, which goes from 8:30-12:30. We are docked until 6:30. We heard all about the shopping in St. Maarten and definitely would like to hit up some of the stores and maybe get a drink and a bite to eat, but we'd like to stay relatively close to the ship. Does anyone have any recommendations for good shopping and a good place to get a drink/quick lunch? And do you think from 12:30-6:30 will be plenty of time? Thanks!

Go thru this foto-thread to get a feel for where you'll be

then think about sticking close to the ship.

get over to Marigot, if you can

I looked at the above mentioned thread and had to laugh because it did remind me of something that my DH did. He is an exceptional photographer and when we went to an island (I won't mention the name of it but I have seen your many, not so positive posts on it, anyway my sister was vacationing on that island a month after us so DH decided to take pictures of the capital city and make it look like it was a place of unseen before beauty and tranquility. Let's just say the pictures could have been used for a travel brochure but people would have demanded their money back once they arrived. We showed her the beautiful pictures and he then showed her what the human eye saw. Wow, what a difference.
