cbroder Posted May 31, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 31, 2004 I am booked on Voyager 5 nights to Canada on July 25th. I am concerned that it may be chilly when out to sea and am thinking about changing my cruise. Anyone cruise to Canada before in the summer months? Was it cold? nosnobunny Posted May 31, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 31, 2004 Canada is a very big country and you didn't say exactly where you'll be, so I'm assuming it's the east coast. You'll find the weather to be very similar to that of New England. jhaasz Posted May 31, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 31, 2004 I have been on this cruise three times and it is really "hit or miss". The first time, it was in the upper 70s/low 80s and beautiful. The second time we froze (upper 50s). The third time, was nice (lower 60s). And, we went around mid-July (the first one was the end of July). Hope this helps! Tmmull Posted May 31, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 31, 2004 cbroder,I can't speak from experience because we'll be on the ship with you . Weather.com posts the average high of 74 and the low of 55 for Halifax. Mid July to early August is there warmest time of year, so I guess we'll have the warmest cruise. mattinla Posted June 2, 2004 #7 Share Posted June 2, 2004 If you want to be guaranteed a warm cruise, you have to cruise in the caribbean or closer to the equator. You are always take a chance on the weather anywhere else. I sailed across the North Atlantic in June last year, and we had several days of balmy sun on deck. Voyager is huge and there is so much to do on her that even if it ends up a bit chilly, you won't be bored. But if your sole purpose is to lie out in the sun, you are on the wrong cruise. L.W. Posted June 2, 2004 #8 Share Posted June 2, 2004 Hi.......July is our hottest month (up here in the Maritimes). It can be damp and foggy at times, or it can be a warm high 70's (whatever nature decides to bring us).It will still be cool in the evenings. If you decide to cruise this way, be sure to bring a sweater or jacket for the evenings. If you want warmth I'd go to the caribbean!
